Located in Guwahati, Purva Tirupati Sri Balaji Temple is a famous temple dedicated to Lord Balaji. The temple was built by Sri Jayendra Saraswati, Sankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, Tamil Nadu in 1994. The temple construction got completed in 1998.

Architecture

The temple complex of the Balaji Temple in Guwahati is built on the vast 2 acres land. The white colored temple is built in the similar architectural style of the South Indian temples. The temple starts with a gigantic Gopuram (the Gate), called as the Rajagopuram of 70 feet. At the entrance, a Ganesha Temple is established. The main temple is the Home of Lord Balaji. The deity inside the sanctum sanctorum is carved out of a single stone that weighs more than 4 tonnes. Besides, there are also the temples of Goddess Padmavati and Garuda- the vahana of Lord Balaji inside the premises.

The Maha Mandapam is another beautiful gopuram inside the temple. The gopuram to the main sanctum sanctorum is Ardha Mandapam.

The Asthanamandapan hall auditorium is built for the cultural and religious conferences and functions.
