Our Journey
At the beginning of 2016, a team of three engineers set out on a mission to create Pilgrimaide.com, a platform that aimed to provide users with comprehensive and consolidated information about various pilgrimage destinations. The website offered extensive details about numerous temples in India, including festivals, pooja timings, and different types of rituals. Our objective was to assist devotees in their travels and facilitate their connection with shrines across the nation by gathering and organizing relevant data. Through this journey, we realized that shopping for devotional products is a deeply personal experience. As a result, in six years, we grew multi fold and transitioned ourselves to a hybrid model including a full-fledged online shopping and brick-and-mortar model, incorporating all the valuable insights gained along the way.
Along with our online portal In 2019, we inaugurated our first physical store named "Pilgrimaide Pooja Shoppe" in Thane. Initially, the business faced a slow start as the concept of a dedicated store for pooja-related items and shopping was quite unconventional, even for a sophisticated audience. Additionally, the multiple lockdowns enforced during the pandemic forced us to temporarily pause our expansion plans. However, this period provided an opportunity for us to strengthen our network of suppliers and artisans across the country. By directly procuring from bulk sellers and artisan groups at the source, we were able to closely monitor product quality and offer the best value to our customers.
After the pandemic of 2020 -21 encouraged by the positive response and feedback, we adopted a measured approach to expansion and opened our third store, Vasant Vihar (Thane), in November 2021. In terms of operations, we achieved breakeven within the second year of our offline business.The scuess excited us.
Currently we operate 10 shops in and around Mumbai and the experience we gained we incorporate on to our website including Price, Quality & Choice.
