Vashi Vaikundam - Shri Guruvayurappan Temple
Situated in the heart of the Navi Mumbai, Vashi Vaikundam
Shri Guruvayurappan Temple is a famous temple deicated to Lord Guruvayurappan.
With the bountiful blessings of Lord Guruvayurappan, a group of devotees found
the Shri Guruvayurappan Bhakta Samaj in 1966, which was registered under the
Bombay Public Trust Act (1960) under certificate No. A-2757 (Bombay). The Samaj
was subsequently resolved to construct a temple for Lord Guruvayurappan with
manyfold objectives of spiritual and cultural centre for the pursuit and
propagation of spiritual knowledge and
promoting the spirit of brotherhood and selfless service to humanity.
With due emphasis on the above said objectives and as a preliminary step, a
plot of land measuring about 497 sq.mtr was acquired in May 2000 from CIDCO, at
Plot 59A, Sector 29, Vashi, Navi Mumbai
400703. In the very next AGM, the Vashi based members of the Samaj completely
took over the entire administration of the Samaj and also responsibility of
constructing the temple and the building. With full confidence and along with
the abundant blessings of Lord
Guruvayurappan and the excellent leadership qualities of the then Secretary
and founder trustee Shri VK Narayan and of course with the excellent support of
the devotees, a Balalayam was constructed in 2006. Slowly and steadily the
structural work of the first floor was taken up in the first phase and was
completed in 2006. The Balalayam was consecrated on 2nd February 2006 with
adequate religious ferver under the guidance of our thantri Shri Pottakuzhi
Narayanan Namboodiri. Again the Committee with full confidence and full support
of the devotees marched forward and completed the second phase in 2009. With
the completion of temple complex, the consecration of idols and samprokshanam
for four revered sannidhis was planned between 22-1-2010 and 2-2-2010. The
Prana Prathishta of the Sannidhis was done on 27th January 2010.

The devotees of Lord Guruvayurappan in Navi Mumbai wanted a
temple for the Lord in Mumbai. They wanted the temple to be a spiritual and
cultural centre that pursuit and propagates spiritual knowledge and promotes
the spirit of brotherhood and selfless service to the humanity. Thus Shri
Guruvayurappan Bhakta Samaj founded by the devotees decided to construct a
temple for Lord Guruvayurappan here.
Architecture
The Temple Construction in complete Kerala style ambience
was entrusted to Shri Kanippayuur Kuttan Namboodiripad, an expert in the field
of vasthu and Kerala temple architecture in March 2009. The sanctum-sanctorum
is made of granite. There is a Mukamandapam for Lord Guruvayurappan along with
the Drikovil work for the three upadevathas Ganapathi, Rajarajeswari and
Ayyappan came to shape with the skillful articians from Kerala giving their
best. The temple also houses a community/ multi-purpose hall for weddings and
other functions. The hall was inaugurated by the honourable guardian minister
Ganesh Naik on 22nd June 2013. The hall is opened for celebrations like
engagement, Shashtipurthy/ Shathabhishekam/ Wedding anniversary, etc. It is a
professionally managed self-sufficient temple with 4 best caterers at its
disposal.

The temple is open from 5:00 AM till 10:00 AM and from 5:00
PM till 8:30 PM.
Vishu, Onam and Ashtamirohini day are usually crowded for
Darsan.

Oil Abishekam, Milk Abishekam to Ganapathy, Ayyappan,
Guruvayurappan & Devi.
Flower Alankaram, Vishnu Sahasranama Archana & other
Sookta Archanas.

Uchha Puja - 10.00 AM
The Temple remain closed from 10.30 AM till 5.00 PM.
Deeparadhana - Between 6.30 PM and 6.45 PM
Athazha Puja - 8.00 PM.

Special Rituals
Lalita Sahasra Namam is recited daily in the temple.
The temple conduct Bhagavata Sapthaham on every January
month (The top Acharyas from Kerala are invited to conduct the Sapthaham).
The temple celebrate Ramayana masam with great devotion.
Laksharchana/ Shasthapreeti is conducted on every 25th of
December. On that day, temple provides
Annadanam to 900 to 1000 people. According to the devotees, Annadanam
of Shri Guruvayurappan Temple is
considered as the best Bhojan in Navi Mumbai.
Any Hindu could have his/ her wedding here in the temple and
the temple even offers 2 Tulsi Malas for the wedding.
