Sri Vaikunthanatha Swamy Temple-New Rangji temple
In the holy city of Pushkar there stands two Rangji temples.
The old one is commonly called as the Rangnath temple and the New Rangji Temple
is dedicated to Vaikuntha Venkatesh. Built in 1823 by Seth Puran Mal Ganeriwal,
the shrine is known for its architecture which amalgamates the best of
Dravidian, Rajput and Mughal styles.

Legend
The temple is dedicated to the Vaishnva sect that follows
the Jayakhyam Samhita, which according to its followers, was first preached by
Bhagwan to Narad Muni, who in his turn recited it to five Rishis at
Prabhaskshetra.
Architecture
This temple's architecture is unique with its confluence of
South Indian, Rajput and Mughal styles of architecture. The tiered high rise
Goporam with carvings is typical of the Dravidian style. At the four corners of
the temple, on the walls are placed four images of Garuda. This temple contains
the main shrine of Vaikuntha Venktesh, and eight other temples dedicated to
Goddess Laxmi amongst others deities.
Culture
Pushkar is a prominent pilgrimage centre, with the Pushkar
Lake holding a special place in Hindu religious stories. It is one of the
oldest existing cities of India. Pushkar is also famous for its annual fair
(Pushkar Camel Fair) held in November.
