Legend
According to the legends, Lord Vishnu disguised as Mohini
came in front of Devas (Gods) and Asuras (demons) who were quarrelling over the
pot of Amrita (an elixir of immortality). Mohini promised to distribute the
Amrita equally among Devas and Asuras. However, for the sake of peace and
protection of people from Asuras, Mohini gave Amrita only to Devas and
disappeared from there. Lord Shiva who saw Lord Vishnu in the Mohini avatar,
fascinated by her beauty and chased Mohini in the presence of Goddess Parvati.
While chasing, one flower from the plait of Mohini fell down and Lord Shiva

flower fell is named as Ryali which means fall in Telugu.
