Located in Southern Avenue, Kolkata, Sree Sree 108 Karunamoyee Kalimata Mandir is a famous temple dedicated to Goddess Kali. The temple is also known as Lake Kalibari. It was founded by Haripada Chakraborty in 1949. The 69-year old temple is one of the most visited shrines of Goddess Kali. The temple is managed by the Sree Sri Karunamoyee Kalimata Trust.

Architecture

The original temple of Maa Karunamoyee Kalimata is a small one storied edifice that is least ornamented with any pomp. There the touchstone idol of Maa karunamoyee kali is consecrated on a 5-Skull asana called the Pancha Mundi Asana by the tantriks of Bengal. The new Sree Sree 108 Karunamoyee Kalimata Mandir is behind the original shrine and is still under construction. Presently, the work is delayed because of the lack of fund flow.
