Located at Rajkot, Gujarat, Shree Jalaram Mandir is a famous temple dedicated to Saint Shree Jalaram Bapa. The shrine is the place, where Saint Jalaram lived during his lifetime. The temple is one of a kind in the world in a way that it has not been accepting any offerings since February 9th 2000.

Legend

There are many legends associated with Saint Shree Jalaram. It is said that one day, a sadhu who came to his house gave him an idol of Lord Rama, and said that Hanuman would follow soon. Jalaram Bapa installed Rama as his family deity and after a few days, a deity of Hanuman appeared out of earth (swayambhu), on its own. There was a container in Jalaram's house that contained inexhaustible grains. Later other devotees and village folk joined him in his works of human welfare. The charitable act of feeding the poor still continues to this day irrespective of religion and creed.

There are three giant copper pots in the Temple that never get empty. It is believed that no one has suffered from any disease after drinking the water from these pots.

Architecture

Architecture of temple is Simple and colourful. The idols of Rama, Sita, Lakshamana and Hanuman are present here. It also has on display, the Jholi and Danda said to be given by God.Additionally, this is one of the temples that keep on evolving constantly.

Culture

The town of Virbai continues the legacy of Virbai & Saint Jalaram. It is one of the places where religious and communal harmony could be witnessed. The people here believe in true charitable acts. The followers are the epitome of humanity and the belief in Saint Jalaram's ideology has spread to countries like East Africa, the US, the UK, and New Zealand.

Mandir is open for all days of year, except at the time of renovation.

Darshan is not allowed from 12:00 PM to 04:00 PM.

Temple Rituals

Devotees of Jalaram have experienced that if they pray to the saint sincerely, he blesses them and fulfils their wishes. These experience are known as Parchas. If their wish is fulfilled, they do fast and visit temple on Thursday.
