Methiri Sree Sathrughnaswamy Temple
Situated in Kottayam, Kerala, Sree Sathrughana Swamy Temple
is the only temple dedicated to Lord Shatrughna. The temple is part of the
Nalambalam (Four Temples) yatra or visit in Kottayam.

Legend
According to the legends, Lord Rama rested at this place on
his way to Lanka. When Rama reached this beautiful place, he felt it as an
ideal place for his meditation. As Lakshmana, Bharatha and Sathrughna could not
bear the disappearance of their beloved brother any longer, they too left
Ayodhya and followed the path of their brother, assuming that their brother
would have gone towards South. On finding him at Ramapuram, they too settled
down nearby, thus explaining the four temples which are equi-distant from each
other.

It employes tiled roofs and wooden grills for the chuttambalam and granite for
construction.

special for the Nalambalam visit.
