Kiradu temples
Kiradu was once a prosperous place, presumably the 11th and
12th centuries. King Someshwar of Parmar rulers under the Solanki dynasty built
this exquisitely carved temples to increase the beauty of his kingdom. There
are five temples in the complex, four of them dedicated to Lord Shiva and one
to Lord Vishnu. Known as Khajuraho of Rajasthan, the region was destroyed by
Turushka invaders. Although the site was restored, but it could never get back
to its original glory. Earthquake and other natural calamities too, through
many years, have caused the destruction of this site.

leaving his students at this place. The
youngsters were struck by some deadly disease. Only a poor lady in the village
served to help them regain health. When the saint returned and saw this he
cursed the entire region to be destroyed and the people to turn to stone. The
saint told the lady to leave the place, never to return. However, as she turned
