Harihar Dham
Jharkhand's very own Harihar Dham Temple, located in
Koderma, Giridih is regarded as the biggest Shiva Lingam across the whole
world. Besides the architectural magnanimity, the temple has also been one of
the most visited one by the Hindus. The temple that is said to be has taken
over 30 years to built is a popular place for marriage for the Hindus.

Legend
Though Harihar Dham is yet not associated with any legendary
tales but this place has become popular for its rituals centering the
worshipping of Lord Shiva during the Shravan Purima (Full moon). Thousands of
pilgrims gather in this abode of the largest Shiva lingam to worship the Lord
by pouring water on the Shiva Lingam. The festival of Nag Panchami is also
observed here. Besides, over the years, the place has become one of the pious
shrines for those looking forward to get married.
Architecture
The 65 feet tall Shiva Linga is consecrated at the place
with around 25 acres of land in Giridih by the Jamunia River of Bagodar. It
took 30 years to build the Shiva temple. The Shiva Linga is the main temple
here.

Special Rituals
Many rituals are observed during the month of Shravan. The
Shravan Purnima is specially worshipped by the devotees of Lord Shiva with
their wishes to tie the knot with the blessings of Mahadev. The fifth day of
the bright half of Shravan is celebrated as the Nag Panchami. The ritual is
about worshipping the Serpent Gods.
