Durga Mata Mandir Sakinaka Mumbai
Durga Mata Mandir Sakinaka is located on the Khairani Road
near the busy junction of Sakinaka in Mumbai City. Though according to
Government records the temple is around 100 years old, it is believed by the
devotees that the origin of the temple dates back to atleast 300 years. The
temple enshrines 18 idols - Durga Mata, Sai Baba, Viswakarma, Shivji, Ram
Lakshman Sita, Radha Krishna, Siddhivinayak, Mahalakshmi, MahaKali, Shitla
Mata, Annapoorna Mata, Shri Narayani Mata to name a few.

Legend
The legend has it that the idol of Durga Mata was discovered
under a peepal tree in the temple compund.
Architecture
The temple structure is constructed in modern style
architecture and marble is excessively used throughout the structure. There are
three conical Beautifully crafted adornment on the roof of the temple which
gives the temple an aesthetic look. the temple has eighteen deities mainly
Durga Mata, Sai Baba, Viswakarma, Shivji, Ram Lakshman Sita, Radha Krishna,
Siddhivinayak, Mahalakshmi, MahaKali, Shitla Mata, Annapoorna Mata, Shri
Narayani Mata
Very Knowledgeable Acharya \ Sastri is available in house
for performing poojas at home (Marathi, Punjabi, Gujarati, South Indian)
Open Maidan:-
There is a vast open area of 7500 sq ft in the temple
courtyard which can be used for wedding and other ceremonies conducted in the
temple.
Marriage Hall :-
The temple also has a Marriage hall with 300 seating
capacity, availability of accomodation for the bride and the groom parties.
There is also a temple Goshala in the compound.this is a multi pourpose hall
which can be used for organizing
meditation and Bhajans.
Gosala :-
The temple premise is blessed with a Gosala with a few
number of holy Cows.
Bhojanalay:-
The Durga Mata Temple has got a fully function Bhojanalay
(Kitchen) which can cater upto 400+ people in a very healthy and Hygine
environment.
Dharamsala (Rooms):-
Many spacious and well ventilated rooms are available
for accommodation with clean and hygienic bathrooms for Ladies and Gents.

Culture

Hindu devotees but also by Muslim filmstars. Even the dresscode is not strict
at the temple. People flock the temple wearing both tradional and western
attire to ask Lord Ganesha to fulfil their special wishes.
