Devagiri Sri Varapada Venkateswara Temple
Devagiri Sree Varapada Venkateswara Temple is located on a picturesque hillock called Devagiri (God’s hill) in Banashankari and is an important shrine for Hindu devotees in the capital city of Bangalore. The activities of construction of this temple started in 1978 when site was allotted by City Improvement Trust Board. With the inauguration of Devalaya Nirmana (Temple construction) Sangha by celebrating Ganeshotsava and Ramnavami, under the patronage of local welfare association, Bhomipooje foundation stone was laid on 25.6.1978. The idol of Lord Venkateswara and others were installed by 03.05.1979. Navagraha and Hanuman were added in 08.02.1987. Sangha was converted as 'Devagiri Sri Venkateswara Trust' from 10.03.1997. According to devotees the idol of Lord Venkateswara consecrated here is just a replica of divine statue at Tirumala in Andhra Pradesh.

Architecture
The idol of Lord Venkateshwara at Devagiri temple is
believed to be an exact replica of the idol at Tirumala (Andhra Pradesh). The
presiding deity, Lord Venkateswara is accompanied by Lord Ganesh to his right
and Goddess Padmavathi to his left. The Rajagopura of the Temple is 108 foot
high which makes it distinguishly visible from long distance. It is a beautiful
and artful of modern construction. Within the Temple complex, shrines have been
built to house Navagrahas (Nine planet gods) and Lord Hanuman. The Kalyana
Mantapa (wedding hall), Mukha Mantapa (hall facing sanctum), Annapoorneshwari
Hall and other spots within the temple premisis. The park adjoining it is an
added attraction for devotees to relax.
