Legend
The legend behind the temple believes that Lord Ganesh came
on the earth and created a temple for himself at Ujjain so that his followers
can worship him here.

The temple reflects the Maratha style with a fort-like wall
on the outside. The mandapa and the garbhagriha have a domed shaped
shikhar. The mandapa has artistically
etched pillars. The shrine also has a pradikshina path around it. The Ganesh
idol enshrined here is supposed to be swayambhu. Riddhi and Siddhi, the consorts
of Ganesha, are seated on either side of Ganesha.
