Architecture

The temple of Brahmeswara Temple was built in the style of Panchatanaya temple architecture. Besides the main temple, there are 4 more temples built around the corners. This style of architecture used to depict the power and prosperity of their builders. Though, the typical Odishi structure is still noticed, the temple has the major two sections - the Vimana and the Jagmohana, per the archetypal Kalinga architecture.

The Vimana of the temple is around 18.96 m that was built to be the main sanctum sanatorium for Lord Brahmeswar Shiva lingam to consecrate. The Jagmohana is famous for the lion head idols that were first found at the Mukteswar Temple.

The sandstone walls and the wooden structures of the interior are worth mentioning. Just like the Rajarani Temples, the temple also has eight guardian Gods protecting the sanctum.

Visitors to Bhubaneswar can explore the State Museum in Bhubaneswar that enshrines the reminiscences of the valorous past of Kalinga (the ancient name of Odisha).
