Situated about 20 kilometers from the capital city of
Silvassa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Bindrabin temple is an ancient and famous
temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is known as Tadkeshwar temple among
the locals. The temple is situated on the banks of River Sakartod. The locals
perform dances to the folklore associated with the temple.

Bindrabin temple is a finest example of the classical
architectures. The carvings on the walls of this temple reveals the rich Indian
cultures and traditions. There are three cottages, a recreational area and an
eatery for the visitors nearby the temple.
Culture
Dadra and Nagar Haveli has a varying culture for it is
inhabited by a number of tribal communities, but however Hinduism is the major
religion practiced here with considerable amount of followers for Christianity
and Islam. Each community has its own distinct rituals and customs with
different culture and tradition strictly adhered by the group. The tribes in
Dadra and Nagar Haveli have their own traditional festivals, which are distinct
from other festivals. Unique in their own way and reflecting the rich cultural
heritage of the community, these festivities form a part of the social as well
as cultural life of the different tribal groups of the union territory. The
Kokhna tribe celebrates a festival called Akha Tij which is specific to the
ladies of that community. Barash is another tribal festival celebrated by the
Kokna and Varli community at the time of Diwali.The Dhodias as a custom of
invoking Goddess Kali's good spirit at the time of crop harvesting celebrate
the Divaso festival. Folk dances of the tribal community forms an integral part
of the culture and tradition of the people. Folk dances play such an essential
part in the life of the tribal people for any function in the community is
associated with folklores accompanied by dance and songs. The people strictly
follow their traditional customs and rituals during the festivals along with
their tribal folk dances.
