Baglamukhi devi temple
With golden complexion, in a yellow dress, she sits on the
gold throne amid the yellow lotuses. Widely worshipped to get victory over
enemies, she, the divinity of Baglamukhi is celebrated in many temples that
stands in her name. One such shrine is the abode of Baglamukhi shrine in Kangra
valley. Though not a Shaktipeetha, the temple is part of the Nav Shakthipeetha
yatra or Nav Durga temples, where the
nine aspects of Durga is worshipped. Many politicians, rich and powerful are
believed to worship at this shrine.

Legend
Baglamukhi is one of the ten mahavidyas( the wisdom
goddesses) and her abode is considered a Sidha Peetha. The legend regarding the
Goddess is that she emerged on hearing the prayers of other Gods when a huge
storm erupted over the earth. She is believed to have calmed the harsh storm.
Since then she is worshipped as the one who will destroy the enemies.
This temple is part of famous Nava Shakthipeeth Yatra.
Architecture
The temple is vibrant in the yellow shade, considered the
favourite of the Goddess. The entrance, the domes, the pillars are all painted
in yellow. There is a huge hawan kund inside a tiered dome supported by
pillars. The sanctum enshrines the idol of Goddess Baglamukhi, decked in yellow
garment, ornaments and flowers.
Culture
Kangra with its scenic beauty is a famous tourist
destination. Tea is a major crop cultivated here and Kangra tea is famous all
over the world for its rich aroma.

Baglamukhi devi temple timings - 6.00 AM to 10.00 PM . The
temple is a part of the Nav Devi darshan yatra covering the nine abodes of
Shakthi across Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh and Jammu & Kashmir

Devotees are advised to wear clean and conservative attire.
Since yellow is the favoured colour of Goddess, devotees wear yellow attire
while going to the shrine.
