Panchamukhi Ganapati Temple is the famous Ganesha Temple located in Lingarajapuram,in the southern part of Bangalore. The temple itself is famous for old Ganapathi idol having 5 faces known as Panchamukhi Ganesha. At a time we can see Lord Shiva, Ganapathi, Ayapppa and Goddess Parvathi under one roof. In the year 1977, a devotee of Lord Ganesha gave 1 acre land to the Shree Ganesha Trust to construct the temple here. In 1984, Smt. Kamalamma and Shri C. L. Lakshmanaraju sponsored the cost for the Panchamukhi idol of Lord Ganesha. The Ganesh Pratisthanapa of the Temple happened under the guidance of  Shri Shri Abhinava Vidyateertha Swami of Sharatha Peetha Shrungeri on 6th Feb,1984 . The temple is easily visible to all as it stands facing the road.

Architecture

The temple was built based on Dravidian architecture and is simple and attractive all at once. It consists primarily of pyramid shaped towers and are constructed of sandstone. The Idol of Ganesh is made with granite stone.
