Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, Dakshina Simhachalam Temple
Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple is a famous temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Situated at Singarayakonda, the temple is also called as Dakshina Simhachalam Temple. The earliest inscription in the Singarayakonda Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple is of 1449-50 AD, which records the instillation of the temple.

Legend
According to the legends, once there was a demon named
Kharasura, who was an ardent devotee of Lord Narasimha. The demon interrupted
Yajnas of the Sages. Lord Rama reached there during his exile period, and
promised to guard the sage’s yajna from the demon. When the demon came to
disturb the yajna, Rama installed the Lord Narasimha idol and offered prayers to
the Lord before killing the demon. It is also believed that Sage Narada did
penance here for Lord Narasimha who appeared before him in Varaha Narasimha
Avatar.
Architecture
The temple is built in Vijayanagara style of
architecture.The Gopuram found in the front of the temple was built by
Krishnadevaraya. Temple also has sanctum of Yoga Narasimha who sits in a
beautiful posture in one of the Yoga Aasana.
