Located at Gollala Mamidada, East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh, Sri Suryanarayana Swamy temple is a famous pilgrim center dedicated to Sun God. The temple was founded in 1920 by Sri Kovvuri Basivi Reddy.

Legend

According to the legends, the temple was built by Sri Kovvuri Basivi reddy in the year 1920. He was the jamindar of G.mamidada. He had dedicated his life for welfare of the society. This is the second famous Lord Surya temple after Arasavilli Sun Temple.

Architecture

The positions of surya namaskaras paintings are displayed at the entrance of the temple on the walls. A small idol of Lord Krishna can be seen from the mirror inside the top of the temple gopuram. The outer walls of the temple are sculpted with different images of gods.
