Architecture
The Someshvara temple at Haranhalli is an example of 13th
century Hoysala architecture. The temple plan is a ekakuta (single shrine) but
made to look like a trikuta (three shrined) due to the two simple lateral
shrine like structures. The temple stands on a platform which in addition to
adding to visual appearnce, provides a path for circumambulation
(pradakshinapatha) around the temple for the devotees.
Culture
The temple is surrounded by green gardens. The area is
blessed with the presence of many historical and ancient temples. The
arti-culture is the major culture in Hassan town. Tourism plays a key role from
past few years onward.
