Situated in  Daman and Diu, Shri Ayyappa Temple is a famous temple dedicated to Lord Ayyappa. The temple was constructed by Sree Ayyappa Seva Samithi.

Legend

According to the legends, a group of devotees formed a committee named Sree Ayyappa Seva Samithi and in the year 2012, the committee decides to constuct Ayyappan temple. The Ayyappa Swamy Temple was started with  prathishta (Installation Ceremony) of Lord Ayyappan in Panchaloha idol was conducted in 2012 under the guidance of Sabarimala Thantri Brahmasri Neelakantararu. Later in the year 2013 installation of Panchaloha Dhwajasthambam, Navagraha and Naga was done in the presence of sabarimala Thantri Kantararu Mohanaruru. Mahakumbabhishekam was conducted at the same time.

Architecture

The construction works of the temple has been entrusted to   M/s. Neelakanda Idol Works, Chenganoor, Kerala headed by Kshetram Shilpi Shri Sadasivan Achary as per the guidance from the Kshetram Thantri - Shri Pandhalakodu Manayil Bhramashree Srinivasan Namboothiri. The Prathishta of Lord Ayyappa has also been held on 2nd March, 2012. The other shrines for Sree Ganapathi, Durga Devi, Subrahamanian (Karthik ), Navgraha and Chuttambalam has small room temples with marble wall flooring. The temple consists of the a sanctum sanctorum with a copper-plated roof and four golden finials at the top.
