Shree Adishakti Mata Bhuvaneshwari Peet
Bhuvaneshwari Peeth, Jamshedpur is one of the most important
Devi shrines of Jharkhand. The temple is dedicated to Maa Bhuvaneshwari
popularly known as Adhishakti Jagdamba in the "Devi Bhagwat Puran".
The peetham was established by Swamij Sri Ranga Rajan Ji Maharaj on 26th
January 1978. Located at Bhuvangiri hills at a height 360ft above sea level,
the temple also houses a Hanuman temple, Nava graha temple and Krishna Temple.

Legend
Swamiji Sri Ranga Rajan Ji Maharaj, the founder Acharya of
Bhuvaneshwari Peeth Jamshedpur, had a dream of Adhishakti Mata Bhuvaneshwari
and he established the Bhuvaneshwari Peetham and a temple on a hill at a place
close to his residence in the year 18th July 1975. As Per the Devi Oracle, the
place had a natural Swayambu Shivlingam with a natural face of Lord Ganesha
engraved on it. In the year 1976, Swamiji Voluntarily resigned from his job at
the Tata Motors and dedicated his life in the service of Devi Maa. On 11th
October 1976 the idols of Maa Bhuvaneshwari, Lord Ganesh, Lord Karthik and Sri Yantram were brought to Jamshedpur and
installed at Swamiji's residence in the Telco Colony.On 24th July 1983, the
idols of Maa Bhuvaneshwari were finally consecratd on the Bhuvangiri Hills. The
temple was completed in 1990.
Architecture
The Bhuvaneshwari Temple is located at the Bhuvangiri hills,
at a height of 360ft above sea level. This Temple is thoroughly constructed
with the style of South Indian architecture. The shrine has 36ft high Garbha
Griham ( Sanctum Sanctorum ) and the Rajgopuram is 64ft high or equivalent to a
five storeyed building. The Temple main hall consists of eight pillars
decorated with eight different forms of Sri Lakshmi Devi.
Culture
