Located at Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad, Peddamma Gudi Temple is one of the most popular religious shrines of Hyderabad dedicated to Goddess Laxmi. Here, Goddess Laxmi, who is seen sitting on a lion, is worshipped as Santhan Laxmi and is popularly known as Peddamma which means Supreme Mother. Peddamma Talli is also one of 11 forms of Goddess Mahankali.

Legend

According to the legends, a shepherd spottef an idol of Goddess nearby a well at this place. It is believed that the Goddess, came here to quench her thirst at the well after killing the demon, Mahishasur.

Architecture

The temple is constructed on the basis of South Indian style of architecture. The temple walls and internal flooring was built with granites and other high quality rocks. The temple is said to be more than 150 years old. The temple took its present shape when the Rajagopuram was built in 1993.

Temple Rituals

Morning Pooja and arati starts from 06:30 AM Onwards and thereafter, daily seva to be performed as per the schedule. There are special prayers on every Thursday which begin with Abhishekam at 03:00 AM.
