Temple

Located inside the Devanahalli Fort, Devanahalli, the Venugopalaswamy Temple is a famous temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The peculiar feature of this temple is that it has two idols of Lord Vishnu. The Venugopalaswamy temple is built in the Dravidian style of architecture. The temple belongs to the post Vijayanagara empire period. The temple is a protected monument under the Karnataka state division of the Archaeological Survey of India.

The Venugopalaswamy temple is built in the Dravidian style of architecture. The temple belongs to the post Vijayanagara empire period. The temple is within the walls of the Devanahalli Fort. There are two statues of Lord Vishnu at the sides of the gopuram which are believed to be of the Ganga era. The temple has a spacious inner Prakara and also has a navaranga, mukhamantapa and a typically small garbhagriha. Various scenes from the Ramayana is depicted in the outer walls of the temple.
