ThiruVaragunamangai Permual Temple is one of the Nava Tirupathi, nine Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu located in Tiruchendur-Tirunelveli route, Tamil Nadu, India in the banks of Thamiraparani river. The place is popularly known as Natham only. This is one of the 108 Divyadesa Vaishnava temple and second in the Nava Tirupathi order.

Legend

According to the legends, Varagunamangai is the place where the Lord granted darshan to a Brahmin Vedic scholar.  As prayed by the Brahmin, Lord granted darshan as Vijayasanar.  He also graced Agni, Rishi Romasa and Satyavan with His darshan.

This temple is part of famous Nava Tirupathi Yatra.

Architecture

Varagunamangai temple is built in Dravidian style of architecture. The temple has a 9-tier rajagopuram amidst lush vegetation around the temple. The presiding deity of ThiruvaragunaMangai Perumal temple is Lord Vijayaasana Perumal, in a sitting posture like a triumphant king.

Male devotees have been advised to wear dhoti, shirt, pyjama or pant and shirt while women and girls should wear saris or churidhar or 'pavadai' with half-sari. Devotees wearing lungi, bermudas, jeans and tight-leggings would not be allowed.
