Legend
The wrath of Lord Shiva at the death of his wife Sati, manifested in his fierce form of Veerabadhra. It is the form of Lord which is worshipped in the temple of Thiruparappu.
This temple is part of the famous Shivalaya Ottam.
Architecture
The temple the banks of Kothayar river is fortified with high stone walls. This temple for Lord Siva faces the west. There are many old inscriptions in this temple including the one of the Pandiya King dated ninth century. The Vimana(roof) of the shrine is adorned with sculptures. There are statues of Lord Krshna and Lord Murugan

Thiruparappu Mahadevar Temple timings :5.00 AM to 11.00 AM and 5.00 PM to 8.00 PM. The temple is a part of the famed Shivalaya ottam conducted during Shivratri. It is the third temple in the run sequence.
Darsan Dresscode
Devotees are advised to wear clean and traditional clothing. Western attire are not allowed in the temples of Tamil Nadu
