Tekdi Ganesh Mandir

Situated in Nagour, Maharashtra, Tekdi Ganapati Temple is an ancient and famous temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh. The temple is built on a hill hence the temple got the name Tekdi Ganesh Mandir. Initially, the temple was built on a small platform. The construction of the new temple started in 1978 and was completed in the year 1984.
Legend
The temple started with just a tin shade around the idol which is believed to have appeared by itself (Swayambhu). The temple is also very popular as it's is believed to be a 'Jagruta Devasthan' (Awakened). Also, the idol was originally very small and it is believed to have grown in size with time.
Architecture
The temple is beautified by fountain, lawn and park spot. The Ganapati temple has been evolving constantly since 1978 and new developments are seen very often.

Temple Rituals
There is a particular piece of ornament namely Mukut (Diadem) which is exhibited only on the occasion of Chaturthi and Ekadashi. The speciality of the temple is that modaka is distributed, after the 4 Aartis, as a divine gift.

Every year in the Paush month on the Sankashti Chaturthi day, a grand yatra called Tekdi Ganapati Yatra is held.
