Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy Temple

Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy Temple is one of the most famous holy shrines in India dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple enjoys the second place after Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. The temple is situated upon the Ratnagiri Hills, Annavaram, Karnataka. Here, Lord Vishnu is presided in the form of Lord Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy or Lord Satyadeva with his consort Sri Anantha Lakshmi on one side and with Lord Shiva on the other side.

Legend

According to the legends, once Lord Vishnu appeared in the dream of a Brahmin of the village named Earanki Prakasam. Lord told the Brahmin that his idol was left abandoned on the Ratnagiri hills and asked the Brahmin to find the idol and reconsecrate it. Next day, the Brahmin informed about his dream to the Zamindar Sri Raja I.V. Ramanarayanam and with the help of the villagers they traced the idol on the hill. The installed the idol at the present spot and started worshipping it. A small shed was built initially in 1891 when the idol was found. Later a temple was constructed at that spot.

Architecture

Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy Temple is built in Dravidian style of architecture. The main temple is constructed in the form of a chariot with four wheels at each four corners. There is a kalyana mantapa in front of the main temple. The temple is in two floors. The ground floor contains the yantra and the peetham of the Lord. The four deities Lord Ganesha, Suryanarayanaswamy,
Bala Tripurasundari and Maheswaraswamy on the four sides of the yantra which constitutes panchayathanam.

Darsan Info

The temple opens at 3:30 AM to 9:00 PM. Sarva darshanam is between 6:00 AM to 12:30 PM and from 1:00 PM to 9:00PM.

Sri Swamy Vari Suprabhata Seva - 3:30 AM.
The temple opens at 3:30 AM to 9:00 PM. Sarva darshanam is between 6:00 AM to 12:30 PM and from 1:00 PM to 9:00PM.

Special Rituals

Free Annadanam is given to the devotees daily. Devotees  have to do the pradakshinam (keeping the shrine to your right) with devotion before entering the temple. Satyanarayana Vratham or Puja is commenced  daily at 6:00 AM and ends at 6:00 PM.
