Legend

According to the legends, Ghati is the place where Lord Subramanya performed penance in the guise of a serpent before slaying the demon Tarakasura. When serpents asked for help to save them from their enemy, Garuda, Lord Subrahmanya invoked Lord Narasimha who assured protection to the serpents and stayed here to bless the devotees.

Architecture

The idol of Lord Karthikeya with a seven headed serpent is made from a single stone. Lord Karthikeya is facing eastwards while the idol of Lord Narasimha faces westwards.
