Sankat Mochan Hanuman / Anjaneya temple

In the holy city of Varanasi, stands the Sankat Mochan Hanuman / Anjaneya temple, dedicated to the devotee of Lord Ram, Hanuman / Anjaneya . Here, he is worshipped as the reliever of all troubles. Devotees believe that praying to the Lord here, alleviates their problems in life. The shrine is built where Tulsidas had the vision of Lord Hanuman. The temple is believed to have been constructed in the early 1900's by Madan Mohan Malviya who is the founder of Banaras Hindu University. There was an explosion in the temple in March 2006, after which there is a permanent police post and presence.
Legend
Tulsidas, is the author of Ram Charita Manas, the Ramayana in Awadhi Hindi language. His work is believed to be what that popularised the stature of Lord Rama as God among the people. It is said that the temple has been built on the very spot where Tulsidas had a vision of Hanuman.
This temple is part of famous Kashi - Varanasi Pilgrimage Yatra.

The construction of the temple is simple and aesthetic. The lanes lined with shops selling offerings lead to the entrance gate of the temple. This temple has the idol of Lord Hanuman facing his Lord, Rama. The idol of Hanuman is decked with marigold garlands and sindhoor
