Nathan Kovil or Thiru Nandipura Vinnagaram Temple in Nathan Kovil, a village in the outskirts of Kumbakonam in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, is dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu. It is one of the 108 Divyadesam dedicated to Vishnu, who is worshipped as Srinivasan and his consort Lakshmi as Shenbagavalli. The temple is maintained and administered by the Vanamamalai Mutt.
Legend
According to the legends, once Nandi, the sacred bull of Shiva, did not respect the gatekeepers of Vishnu. They cursed Nandi that his body would suffer oppressive heat. Nandi informed it to Lord Shiva, who advised him to do penance in Shenbaranyam. Vishnu was impressed by the penance of Nandi and relieved him from curse. Hence the place is also called as 'Thiru Nandhipura Vinnagaram' and even the Theertham (the temple tank) of this temple is called as Nandhi Theertham.
This temple is part of the famous Kumbakonam Divyadesam Yatra.
Architecture
Nathan Kovil is built in Dravidian style of architecture. The temple at Nadhan Koil has a rajagopuram with colourful sculptures of Dasavatharam, a vimanam on the sanctum sanctorum and a separate niche for Thayar.

Darsan Dresscode
Male devotees have been advised to wear dhoti, shirt, pyjama or pant and shirt while women and girls should wear saris or churidhar or 'pavadai' with half-sari. Devotees wearing lungi, bermudas, jeans and tight-leggings would not be allowed.

Temple Rituals
The temple rituals are performed six times a day:
Ushathkalam at 7 AM, Kalasanthi at 8:00 AM, Uchikalam at 12:00 PM, Sayarakshai at 6:00 PM, Irandamkalam at 7:00 PM and Ardha Jamam at 10:00 PM.
There are weekly, monthly and fortnightly rituals performed in the temple.
Special Rituals
Special poojas are performed during the Pavitrotsavam. Special abishekam is performed on Fridays.
