Kumbha Shyam Temple

Situated in the same compound as the Meera temple, inside the Chittorgarh fort is the temple dedicated to the Varaha avatar of Lordh Vishnu. Built in 1448 by Maharana Kumbha, the then ruler, the temple is an example of the artistic as well as spiritual inclination of the Maharana warriors.
Legend
The temple, one among the many shrines built by the Rajput king, Maharana Kumbha, exemplifies his love for arts, music as well as his propagation of Hinduism. It is believed that the Maharana himself took part in constructing the temple, because of which it was named after him.
Architecture
The temple constructed in an elevated plinth follows the Indo-Aryan style of architecture. With its pyramid style roofs, high towers, intricately sculpted walls, the temple is an architectural beauty. There are sculptures of Gods & Goddesses inside the temple.

There is an entrance fee of Rs. 10/- for Indians and Rs 100/- for non Indians to the fort

Devotees are advised to wear clean and conservative attire in the temple.

Chittorgarh was the former capital of the Sisodia Dynasty of Mewar. Chittorgarh Fort, is the largest fort in India and Asia. It is known for its fort as well as being the land of worship for Meera.
