Kote Venkataramana Temple is one of the most prestigious Hindu temples in Bangalore,Karnataka dedicated to the god Venkateshwara. Built in 1689, this temple displays Dravidian and Vijayanagara style of architecture by King Chikka Devaraja Wodeyar, then ruler of Mysore. Exquisite and historic, this temple is a certainly a must visit for a spiritual as well as artistic elevation. The temple is located inside the Bangalore fort and is just next to summer Palace of Tipu Sultan.
Architecture
The temple consists of a garbhagriha which is connected to a central hall by a vestibule. The temple exudes modest decorative work where walls of the sanctum and vestibule are plain but for a row of deity sculptures in frieze at the base. The hall ceiling is supported by pillars that are in clusters alternating with yalis in all four directions which appears on each of the central columns.There are beautiful sculptures all around in the temple, including on the shikhar.

Every year in the month May or June (Vrushabha Masa, Pubba Nakshatra), Car Festival of the Lord takes place in the temple. The main festival celebrated here is Vaikuntha Ekadashi when thousands of devotees throng the temple.
