Keshavraiji Temple

30km from Dwaraka on the sea shore is the ancient temple of Lord Keshavraiji. Lord Keshavrai, a form of Lord Krishna worshiped by the followers of Shree Vallabhacharya . The temple is believed to have built by Pushkarna Brahmins for more than 500-1000 Years ago. The registers have the forename and family name of all Pushkarna devotees, who have visited the shrine, as long ago as 250 years.

Legend

Lord Keshavrai is worshiped by Vaishnavities and followers of Shree Vallabhacharya . He is the is Ishtdev of Samasth Pushkarna Gyati. Pushkarna Brahmins located mainly in the regions of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Kutch, Sindh & Punjab are ardent devotees of Lord Keshavrai. The temple is is believed to have been built by these Brahmins to celebrate the divinity of their God.

Architecture

The architecture of the temple is simple, featuring white arches and domes. The domes are of tow types - curved and flat as well as steep tiered ones. The idol of the Lord is in black stone adorned with beautiful clothes and jewellery.
