Legend
Kadumane is derived from the Tulu usage for Kanva Mana, meaning where Sage Kanva stayed. So it is assumed to have connections with Ramayana.
Architecture
There is no structure for this temple, except a granite platform. A thatched roof is made using grass and cadjan leaves, which is supported by bamboo poles.

Culture
Kasargod offers a variety of patterns of arts which speaks volumes about the rich cultural heritage of regions. Temple Rituals
The temple is about eight swayambhoo idols on a single granite platform in the middle of the forest. The main idol is Vana-durga and other idols are Siva, Ganapathi, Subramanya, Saastha, Vishnu Narasimhamoorthy and Nandikeswara. Close to the platform bearing idols is a termitary where a large number of serpents are found. The banyan tree near the temple also has got a termitary at its base. Its dense forest all around the temple.
