ISKCON Chandrodaya Temple

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) is located in Mayapur since the year 1970. This cult is the memory of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), also known as The Hare Krishna Movement Organization, was founded by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. ISKCON follows the teachings of the Vedas and the Vedic scriptures, including Bhagavad-gita and the Bhagavata Purana; it teaches and practices Vaishnavism, or devotion to God in the supreme personal aspect of Radha Krishna.

Architecture

The temple of Chandrodaya is perfectly built in the Bengali Aat Chala style. But the latest Temple of the Vedic Planetarium is under construction which will be around 113m heigh and will be the largest Vedic temples on Earth.

Nabadwip, Maayapur is famous for being the birth place of Sri Chaitanya Dev, one of the most promising devotees of Lord Krishna during the Bhakti Movement. The place is surrounded by many Hindu shrines and this is the sanctum of the vaishnava cult. The ISKON cult has also established their headquarters here at Mayapur. Thousands of devotees of Lord Krishna and Radha Rani visit the place during the special festivals besides th regular bhakts.
