Temple

EME Temple, was built by the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (EME) Corps in 1966 and is dedicated to Dakshinamurti, a form of Shiva as supreme teacher. It is run by Indian Army Authorities, and incorporates holy symbols of all religions in one place. Known for its unique design, the temple attracts both tourists as well as devotees from all over the country.

Legend

The Indian Army officials build the EME Temple as a symbol of unity and faith in God. The structure illustrates the harmony among different relegions. The 'Kalash' on the top  symbolises Hinduism and  while the domes represent Islam. The entrance of the temple signifies Jainism and the tower signifies Christianity. The Golden tip of the temple is dedicated to Buddhism.

Architecture

The temple structure is unique in concept and design and is entirely made up of aluminium sheets. Landscape inside temple is beautifully maintained by Indian Army. It has a garden featuring a rich collection of 106 ancient statues from the 6th to the 16th centuries. The EME temple houses an idol of Lord Dakshinamurthy and incorporates the symbols of all religions.
