Birla Mandir is a Hindu temple located at the south end of Hussain Sagar in Hyderabad. The temple is built on the twin hillock of the Naubath Pahad on a 13 acres plot. The temple was constructed in 1976 by Birla Foundation under the supervision of Swami Ranganathananda of Ramakrishna Mission. It took 10 years to build this magnificent temple. The Birla Foundation has also constructed several temples across India, all of which are known as Birla Mandir.

Architecture

The temple has a combination of Dravidian, Rajasthani and Utkala architecture styles. The temple is constructed with 2000 tons of pure white marble. The idol of Lord Venkateswara is made of granite and is about 11 ft tall. On the top, there is a carved lotus which forms as an umbrella.There is a brass flagstaff in the temple premises with a height of 42 ft. Selected teachings of holy men and Gurbani are engraved on temple walls.

The temple is open from 7:00 AM till 12:00 PM and from 3:00 PM till 9:00 PM.

No specific dress code though devotees are expected to wear clean and conservative attire while visiting.
