Baba Thakur

Situated in a small village of Karoli in Haryana is the temple of Baba Thakur. Dedicated to Lord Krishna, they shrine is the epicentre of spirituality in this village. The locals take a huge part in the running of the temple and its festivities.
Legend
An old temple had been existing in the village since 150 years. In the late 90's the residents of the village decided to renovate the shrine. With their dedication and hardwork, in two years time a magnificent temple of Baba Thakurji was constructed.
Architecture
The brightly painted entrance to the shrine has an idol of Lord Krishna with his cows on the top. The shrine has a tall hexagonal pillar with a shikhara. The pillar has niches with images of the Lord. The temple has tiled floors and a open courtyard in the centre. The pillars of the courtyard and the walls are vibrantly hued.
