Sri Subramanya Swamy Temple, Sri Subrahmanya Devalayam

Mallavaram Subramanya Swamy Temple is a famous temple dedicated to Lord Subramanya. Sarpa Dosha Pooja is very popular in this temple. The temple was built in 1962.


According to the legends, Lord kumaraswamy is also called as Sri Subrahmanyeswara and prayed in Sarpa Roopa (As cobra). Once a cobra appeared in the temple of lord Kukkuteswara of Pithapuram, and stayed there without touching anything or go away anywhere in spite of the provocations by the visitors about a week after Subrahmanya Shashti. The idol of Subrahmanya swamy in this temple is in the form of Sarpa Roopa along with Siva lingam and Ammavaru. The temple was constructed on the basis of Dravidian style of architecture.

Chebrolu is situated on NH214 between Kakinda and Tuni. Regular APSRTC buses are available from Kakinda, Tuni, Annavaram and Pithapuram up to Chebrolu. Autos are available at Chebrolu to reach temple.
Pithapuram, Samalkot and Annavaram are major railway stations on the Chennai Kolkata line. Trains run to Hyderabad Chennai, Howrah, Vijayawada, Nellore, Tirupathi, Secunderabad and other places.
Visakhapatnam airport is the nearest airport. Almost all major airlines operate flights from Vishakhapatnam airport to Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkatta and Tirupathi. Visakapatnam is nearly 160 kms from Mallavarm.
