Here, Lord Narasimha is seen along with Goddess Mahalakshmi Devi. Sri Malyadri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Vari Devasthanam is one of the Nava Narasimhas (Nine shrines of Lord Narasimha). The temple is open to devotees only on Saturdays.
According to the legends, one day Sri Mannarayana murthy asked Sri Maha Lakshmi if she has any wishes he will do it for her. Goddess Maha Lakshmi replied that she got Lord Vishnu as her husband and that is most the extra ordinary thing in her life. There are 970 steps covered with flowers and rocks to reach the hill top. There is another path which is of 2 km from the down hill to the hill Top. The path to the hill top is narrow, only auto, tractors, car and other private vehicles can pass through this path.
