Keesara Gutta Ramalingeswara Devasthanam

Located in the Keesara village, Keesaragutta Temple also called as Ramalingeshwara Swamy Temple is a famous temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is believed that the Shiv lingam in this temple was installed by Lord Hanuman. Situated on the top of a hill in the Rangareddy district, the temple was constructed during Chalukyan Empire reign.


According to the legends, Sri Rama wanted to install a Siva lingam here to relieve himself from the sin of killing Ravana, a Brahmin. Lord Rama ordered Hanuman to bring Shiv Lingam from Varanasi. The Temple has several scattered Shiva lingams in the Compound. The main temple has a huge statue of Hanuman, Yaga shala and Prayer hall.  The temple also houses the shrines of Lord Ganapathy, Lord Subramanya with Valli Devanay.
